The return

Southern Cross station, Melbourne, Australia
We all talk about culture-shock, but rarely do we discuss the reverse.
When we move abroad, we mould our minds and mannerisms to fit our new environment. As we walk through the day, we find our steps out of sync with that of those around us. It can be tiring at times, constantly tweaking the way you act, because the more your awareness grows, the more likely you are to see the differences you missed before. So when we think of home, we imagine it as a giant breath of fresh air; a place where we can just be ourselves. But we’re forget one big thing… We are no longer the people we were when we left our cities. We are people in between.
